Review: Country duo Love and Theft soar on 'If You Ever Get Lonely' Special

Country duo Love and Theft
RCA Nashville recording duo Love and Theft released their newest single “If You Ever Get Lonely” to mainstream country radio.
It is the fifth track off their latest eponymous studio album and it was co-written by Kyle Cook, Lisa Drew, Steven Dale Jones, as well as veteran musician John Waite.
The song’s music video, which was posted on their official YouTube channel on July 8, is monochromatic and this works quite effectively since it enhances the mood of the video.
Stephen Barker Liles is featured on lead vocals on this stirring ballad and he nails them. Eric Gunderson accompanies him on acoustic guitar and he delivers on harmonies. The music video is melancholic, emotional and extremely well-crafted.
The Verdict
“If You Ever Get Lonely” is one of Love and Theft’s best singles that they have released in their career. It ranks in my top two all-time favorite songs of theirs since “Angel Eyes.” Eric and Stephen earn an “A” for this song. Along with Florida Georgia Line, Love and Theft are the two greatest duos that the modern country genre has to offer.
