Woman tortures, kills baby rabbit on latest viral 'crush' video

A woman allegedly flattening a rabbit in Japan
Chinese national television showed a young woman sitting on and squashing a rabbit to death on the Internet's latest viral video. Authorities are now trying to find her and say the horrific video was intentionally made for entertainment purposes.
Warning this video is extremely graphic and should be watched by mature audiences only. Please use discretion if deciding to view the horrible act.
The 'crush' video has been viewed by millions of people around the world who are sickened beyond belief by the scene of the alleged Chinese woman taunting, torturing and then purposely killing the young rabbit.
Live Leak posted the video this week followed by China Hush who said:
"Recently, the video of a girl senselessly killing a baby rabbit appeared on the Internet. The cruelty provoked Netizens’ great anger towards the rabbit-killer girl. Many of you thought this was just an isolated incident, the girl was probably mentally ill. However no, the truth is behind her cruel acts there is an interest group by the name of “Crush Fetish”. Including those other girls appeared in the video are all members of this group of abusing and killing various small animals. The goal of making these sick videos is to make profit; they make the videos into DVD discs and sell them to foreign countries. Prior to this, there were already videos of a mid-aged women abusing and killing cats, rabbits and dogs on the Internet, she was just one of them."
Before It's News details the video by saying:
"Recently a video of this young girl senselessly killing a little rabbit had appeared on the Internet. In the video, a young girl with long hair dressed in white abused and killed the little rabbit. She put a piece of thick glass plate on top of the the little rabbit and then sat on top of the glass plate. Using her body weight she crashed the little rabbit to death. Her two female friends watched and laughed when she committed the crime.
The entire video showed one pretty sick woman brutally killing a little rabbit, and two other girls sitting there, watching and laughing. They all spoke Sichuan dialect, sounded like Chengdu locals," said the website.
At 1’36” of the video, the girl said “softly sit on it”, then she put the rabbit on the table and sat on it. “So soft!” she said. The rabbit jumped and fell on the floor.
The girl put the rabbit back onto the table and placed a glass plate on top of it. At 2’16” of the video, she sat on top of the glass plate and said, “Sit on the skull… does it know I am sitting on it?” The sound of things being crushed…
The rabbit killer moved around her body sitting on the glass plate while humming a tune. At 3’03” of the video, she stood up and lifted up the glass plate, and the poor rabbit was dead.
At 3’35” of the video, she sat on the glass plate again, still humming, and the others just laughed. The girl lifted both of her legs off the floor and said, “ha I am using my entire body weight!”
Commenters on the Internet are outraged about the video and authorities are asking for help in locating the three women.
Do you know the women committing this horrific, senseless and unbelievable crime?

Outrageous! Lets get ten 500-pound men and have them sit on all of these crazy (insert vulgar adjective here).
I remember seeing a video a few years ago of a woman poking a cat with her high-heel shoe. Supposedly these kinds of videos are "erotic" in east Asia.
It makes me sick.

I wonder if the sick b^tch would know if ten Sumo wrestlers were sitting on her head?

this is so disgusting that i couldn't even read it, past the first line or so, and i do think this is the kind of item that possibly should not put in the news. this kind of perp needs a good time in jail to contemplate the folly of her ways...this kind of cruelty is best immediately suppressed, and not made a world wide video hit out of.

Unfortunately putting this on the back page of the news or refusing to publish this undeniably horrible video will not make it go away. The only way to begin to end this horrific fetish practice of torturing animals for sexual pleasure is to make people aware of what is going on and then creating laws to make it illegal or refusing to conduct business with those countries who condone this disgusting and vile behaviour.
If this woman and her two friends lives are made difficult because of this video being seen by their friends, family,, neighbors and co-workers that just might stop these three sicko's and save a few more dozen animals they would be sure to crush and kill for the same sick reason - pleasure and entertainment.
I agree its sickening.... but so was the video of the girl who killed the puppies and so are the video's and still photographs of mass graves around the world seen throughout history as well as on the nightly news. The same as seeing the dead and wounded and injured in recent earthquakes, other natural disasters and even in battle. If we don't know the horrors around us we can't be reactive or proactive in changing the world we live in.
A "recommend or like" is not a vote to glorify 'crush' video's, it can also be for taking a stand and saying this needs stopped- enough is enough- make an example of these people, before it gets worse.

Ugh, just disgusting. I'll refrain from the language I want to use right now, however.

unfortunately there are equally disgusting people everywhere, what can one say....except that i would prefer to do nothing which might ever encourage anyone to undertake such practices...i didn't mean my comment as a criticism of your story Kim, so much as the general practice of news media .

No problem - I didn't take it personal.

I must say I think something like Hans about this kind of "kill a kitten" article although not for exactly the same reasons.
As Kim says, ignoring the phenomena won't make it go away and this article is well-written, just like all of her articles. Which is why my comment below is in no way intended as negative criticism of her.
My slant on on it has more to do with the type of journalism it is and the reactions it is designed to elicit. British readers (and others who know the British press) will know what I mean when I say that this kind of article is sensationalist "Sun journalism."
Sun journalism appeals to people's sense of outrage and is named after the gutter-press rag The Sun, which turned the reporting of tawdry, sleazy and sordid events into a genre . It is designed to do suscitate outrage. It often defends itself by claiming to want to contribute to eradicating the phenomena it is reporting and/or seeing the culprits apprehended. Which is total bull. They do it for the hits, the votes, and sales by whipping up self-righteous and sanctimonious hysteria. It has resulted in many ugly witch-hunts for people and groups of people, many of whom have done nothing wrong or who have done what many others do but just happened to have been seen/filmed/recorded doing it.
But at the end of the day what I think about cheap "shock horror outrage" journalism is neither here nor there. Because it sells.

Interesting take on it, Michael Cosgrove. I do not know what the Sun is like, but shock journalism seems to be a sort of limbo dance to see how low you can go. We used to call it Yellow Journalism. You call it Sun Journalism. It is similar to Gonzo Journalism, because the act itself is participated in by displaying it. Since the writer is a "Citizen Journalist" it seems it does NOT sell. Typically, "Citizen Journalism" is resourced with what I, and others, refer to as "Chinese Whispers." Since this comes with its own proof and not paid for, I think the phrase Limbo Journalism would best fit. Limbo Journalism: Sun Journalism or Yellow Journalism or Shock Journalism without the profit motive.

i did notice that Kim's story had the most recommendations on facebook, on that square thingy on the side of the page where such things are (uselessly in my opinion) are noted....a LOT more votes for recommendation than the next story...which tends to support Michael's view that such ugly revolting stories tend to sell newspapers....no accounting for the lowness of the average public taste...after all they watch Survivor every week for years! and on TV the "reality" shows are very popular...not because there's any VALUE in them, nor are they good drama, what they are is low-life disgusting, rather like the story above, and people LOVE that crap....because maybe, it means that there is at least SOMEONE in this world worse off, or more wicked, then they are....people love to compare themselves in this way....feeling superior that THEY at least are not such animals to do such things, all the while coarsening and degrading their own characters through continual exposure to this dung news.
as for Mr. Scharf, if you have no respect for citizen journalism, and think it is all based on innuendo and "chinese whispers", whatever that is, why in this world are you still reading the journal? it must be a terrible waste of time for such a superior intellect to read such drivel by us lower than the lowest low life hacks...
and why would you waste time posting comments, when only those journalists might be reading? and who are these "others" that you refer to, in the "chinese whispers" issue? the voices in your head? the "chinese whispers" you claim not to believe?

John Lloyd Scharf is right and I find his observations to be very pertinent.

I've known John for a while now as he used to be a regular here on DJ. He is outspoken but truthful in his comments.
This whole thing just makes me ill and it's just further proof that the world has seriously gone to Hell with or without a hand-basket.

"..the world has seriously gone to Hell with or without a hand-basket."
Agreed Debra. What with sick vids like this and the press giving them publicity which will result in others emulating them - and that's why and how this fad started off in the first place - we are in a sick world. Sick people, sick press.

Let the animals do the same to her.....put her in a zoo!!! Let elephants sit on her, let the others laugh while watching her die.

At no point would I advocate or consider equal the mistreatment of a human with that of a rabbit. Someone seems to be short on Niacin and 2-4-5 trytophan. Violence is never a deterence to violence. It is a justification for violence. I am a devout meat eater and advocate, but I do not believe in torture and there are humane ways to butcher out a rabbit. It makes me wonder in what way they slaughter animals where she lives.

I agree. We all know there are weirdos out there, all over the world, who will get their kicks off this video, and posting it here just encourages them.
And yes, this is indeed sensational 'shock' journalism.
